MY JOURNEY

Like many artists & designers, my journey began as a hobby and having too much time on my hands. So, here's the story of how I got here.

My creative journey began in 2019 when I started making alternative concept album covers and posters for my favorite artists.

In 2020, I got introduced to Adobe Photoshop, and it was a game-changer for me. With the extra time during the pandemic, I decided to dive into Photoshop, teaching myself the ins and outs of this powerful tool.

2021 was a big year for me. I started creating and selling pre-made cover arts on CoverArtMarket, a platform where artists can buy album covers. I also dipped my toes into the world of digital art by designing and selling NFTs (non-fungible tokens). Both helped me funding and expanding my hobby to be a form of income for the first time.

In 2023, I began taking on freelance work from various sectors. My portfolio quickly grew with projects ranging from logos and banners to flyers and other press-work for local businesses and other opportunities my school and presence on social media offered me.

Medio 2024 I took a new step in my so called ''career'' by launching my own clothingline wich was (and still is) powered by Etsy's "Artist Selection" campaign. This ''brand'' brings my own creativity and the submitted ideas of others together to create temporary collections, mainly consisting of graphic tees. I could give you a great pitch about why you should buy these clothes, but if you're not in the target group, it wouldn't matter. These clothes are made primarily out of pure inspiration, not with the endless goal of making as much money as possible as a 20-year-old. Because in the end I still have no clue what I am exactly doing.

In early 2025, I completed my Graphic Design minor in Tilburg as part of my marketing studies. During this minor, I was able to dive deeper into the creative side of design while learning more on how to use it effectively within commercial and social projects. After this, I also worked on projects for school for brands like Bavaria / Royal Swinkels and a Euroforum conference.

As for what the future holds? Honestly, I have no clue. I’d love to tell you I have a five-year plan, but the reality is I’m just trying to figure it out one design, one RedBull, and one existential crisis at a time. What I do know is that I want to keep creating, preferably somewhere in the creative industry where I can use my skills (and questionable humor) to make things that look cool and actually matter. Because if there’s one thing I’ve learned so far, it’s that having no idea what you’re doing isn’t the worst thing, as long as you’re doing it with intention.
